Zaev: Around 75% of our citizens live under the middle class

-

Bitola is one of the cities that suffers from the disease ‘migration’ which has spread all across Macedonia, said the opposition leader Zoran Zeav before meeting with citizens of Bitola.

“This is evident in the lack of a quality workforce, we see this in the turnover of money our society makes. One part of the problem is because of the people who have left, the other part is because those who remain live in poverty”, said Zaev.

According to Mr Zaev, around 75 percent of the population are below middle class or are just poor.

“They can’t afford to spend a third of what they earn, for it to be so-called discretionary spending. So despite covering daily expenses, save money for their children, to go on a summer vacation, to buy a car after few years saving, the average life, and so on. This is not possible for over 75 percent of citizens in our country. All the data we see tells us that the situation is alarming. The “Bombs” or our project “The Truth about Macedonia” confirmed this fact and our citizens know it”, added Zoran Zaev.
