Zaev decided to go to Brussels

-

SDSM leader Zoran Zaev, along with the delegation, will attend tomorrow’s meeting in Brussels with EU Enlargement Commissioner Johannes Hahn.

“The statement by EU Commissioner Johannes Hahn along with the OSCE Secretary General that the final report of OSCE/ODIHR on the early parliamentary elections in Macedonia in 2014 contains a number of shortcomings of the electoral process, which requires urgent implementation of the recommendations of the observation mission, as well as clearly expressed call to reach agreement on the remaining items, i.e. organizing a government that will prepare and implement the next elections, we appreciate the strong confirmation of the position of Commissioner Hahn stated in a telephone conversation with president Zaev and through a written statement from the European Commission. We expect principled talks set on an equal basis,” reads the announcement of SDSM.

The statement reads that the expressed commitment of EU Commissioner Hahn to raise the essential question, organizing government that will conduct fair and democratic elections, open the way for possible start of negotiations to resolve the political crisis.
