The Speaker of Parliament, Talat Xhaferi today met today with Karen Pierce, the Chief Operating Officer at the British Foreign Office. Xhaferi’s cabinet informs that Pierce congratulated him for his election as Parliament Speaker and has wished him success in his work. She repeated the efforts on part of the United Kingdom for retaining the current inter-institutional bilateral cooperation with the Republic of Macedonia.
“President Xhaferi stressed that he will perform the position of Parliament Speaker of the Republic of Macedonia in the interest of all citizens regardless of their ethnic, political or other affiliation. Xhaferi has expressed his conviction that the process for peaceful transfer of power will continue and in that direction he expects a quick forming of a new government, through its election at the Parliament of the Republic of Macedonia”, informs Xhaferi’s cabinet.
The cabinet also informs that Pierce and Xhaferi had a conversation about the condition in the region and Xhaferi stressed that the problem with the name that was imposed by our southern neighbour is a huge obstacle in the Republic of Macedonia’s integrative processes.
