Xhaferi announced that tomorrow there will be a vote on Zvrlevski’s dismissal

-

Parliament Speaker Talat Xhaferi announced that tomorrow, Parliament will vote on the Government’s proposal to dismiss the Attorney General of the Republic of Macedonia, Marko Zvrlevski, after MPs from the opposition VMRO-DPMNE left the session this afternoon referring to a letter from the State Commission for Preventing Corruption, who determined that in the period before local elections, there should not be a discussion and state officials should not be dismissed.

“Today I found that the list of reports have been exhausted and tomorrow during the continuation of this session, there will be a vote on the Government’s proposal for the dismissal of the Attorney General of the Republic of Macedonia”, said Xhaferi in a statement for TV21.

Xhaferi believes that the State Commission for Preventing Corruption is illegally addressing Parliament and is violating the Rules and Regulations.

“The Parliament Speaker did not address the State Commission for Preventing Corruption, as authentic interpretation of certain laws according to the Rules and Regulations is up to Parliament and is in Parliament’s jurisdiction. The letter from the SCPC does not produce any formal legal obligations towards me or Parliament, which is the highest legislative body and therefore, can not obstruct the work of Parliament. The Parliament Speaker did not address this commission”, said Xhaferi at the end of today’s continuation of the session.
