“Trud”: Macedonia gives up to 35 euros per Bulgarian tourist

-

Macedonian Government subsidizes Bulgarian tour operators who organize group trips to Macedonia, said yesterday in Sofia Kristijan Dzhambazovski, Director of the Macedonian Agency for promotion and development of tourism.

– Subsidies are given for organized tourism to Macedonia by bus, train and plane. All forms of transportation are covered,” stated Dzhambazovski, who attends the international fair “Vacations and spa,” for the Bulgarian daily “Trud“.

The newspaper states that Bulgarian tour operators, who organize trips with more than 10 tourists, will be entitled to subsidies.

– When the group has over 10 tourists and has more than three visits to Macedonia, the tour operators are entitled to subsidies. The bus trip subsidy is 10 euros per visitor, stated Dzhambazovski, adding that, this way, the cost for tourists becomes lower and the tour offers more competitive.

Macedonia also gives subsidy for air travel, if the tour operator organized at least 7 flights with groups of over 10 people, reports “Trud”.

– A tour operator organizing charter of Sofia, Plovdiv and Varna, or introducing a regular line, will get thirty-five euros per tourist, said Dzhambazovski.

From 2009 to 2014, there was an increase of Bulgarian tourists in Macedonia by 27 percent, reports “Trud”, adding that so far 30 thousand Bulgarians visited Macedonia.
