The government does not have any capacity to carry out reforms, and Macedonia is moving in the wrong direction because it has a predominant executive government that is influencing the judiciary and the Assembly – this was the conclusion of the debate on topic “Urgent Reform Implementation Misses,” organized by the Foundation Open Society Institute – Macedonia (FOSIM) and the Macedonian Center for European Training (MCET).
Bojan Marichikj of MCET said that after the election the reforms’ agenda should not be left exclusively in the hands of the government.
-The report has a sharp tongue and it directly points at those that are held most responsible especially at those who govern. It is clear that there isn’t any political will for carrying out the reforms. This government does not have any capacity to implement reforms and because of that, we cannot expect any implementation of the reformatory priorities. Macedonia has headed in the wrong direction because it has a seriously dysfunctional democratic environment that is influencing the country’s future – said Marichikj.
This report indicates of an imprisoned country and institutions, and the reason for that is because it has a predominant government, that is directly influencing the Assembly and the judiciary, concluded Urania Pirovska of the Helsinki Committee.
According to Fani Karanfilova- Panovska of FOSIM, in Macedonia there is a case of bad management of public finances, the percentage of the budgetary deficit has been constantly on the rise including the external debt.
-The next government will have to devote time to discipline the financial policies and how to motivate the whole economic environment – said Karanfilova- Panovska
