The European Commission has confirmed Johannes Hahn’s visit to Skopje

-

The European Commission today confirmed that EU Commissioner for Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, Johannes Hahn will visit Skopje this month, but it is yet to be revealed when exactly.

“Johannes Hahn will visit Skopje, but when exactly, I can not confirm yet”, said Catherine Ray, spokesperson for the European Commission.

Ray, however, gave no details of the letter that Hahn sent two weeks ago to the leaders who are all signatories of the Przhino Agreement but she did say during his visit to Skopje he will want to discuss the progress in the implementation of the agreed points from the Agreement.

Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski yesterday also confirmed that Commissioner Johannes Hahn will be visiting Skopje, but did not disclose the agenda or topic of their meeting.

On January 11, MEPs Richard Howitt, Eduard Kukan and Ivo Vajgl, will also be coming to Skopje, who along with Hahn helped broker the Przhino Agreement. It is still unknown whether the politicians from Brussels will travel together to Skopje with Commissioner Johannes Hahn, or whether they will try and unblock the dialogue on the implementation of the Przhino Agreement, specifically the matter with the media, the full implementation of the deal for the SEC, as well as the work of the Inquiry Commission regarding the wire-tapped telephone calls.
