The New Years ‘pearls’ of Bitola’s Mayor Vladimir Taleski are among the most discussed topics these days, especially regarding his statement about his assets, and his claims that he is “Certifiably innocent”.
“So, I am certifiably innocent and my work is clean, it this will be proven after the criminal charges which were brought against me”, said Major Taleski in a New Year interview with TV “Tera”.
Special Public Prosecutor Katica Janeva before New Year sent prosecutors from her personal team to investigate the”bomb” associated with the free school transport in Bitola.
According to “Meta” sources, Janeva’s prosecutors requested from several schools in Bitola documents, lists and invoices on how many students used the free school transport in the school years of 2009-2010 and 2010-2011.
Apparently, what intrigued prosecutors most was information on the number of students in relation to mileage and the pricing of these services.
As confirmed by Dragan Stojanovic, Director of the School of Technology “Georgi Naumov”, several of the prosecutors from the Special Prosecutor’s Office visited the school and gathered evidence on the school’s free transport service.
In one of the intercepted telephone calls, Finance Minister Zoran Stavreski said that the agreement on the free school transport in Bitola, which was signed by Mayor Vladimir Taleski was “corrupt to the core.”
Following the publication of this interview, the MP from SDSM Vasco Kovachevski, filed criminal charges against the Major, and the Public Prosecutor’s Office in Bitola opened a case, which was recently taken over the Special Prosecutor’s Office.
MP Kovachevski before filing the charges, said that in the audio recordings it was evident that in the contract for the transportation for students, from June 2010, the agreed price were 10 times higher than the normal market price.
Bitola’s citizens did not remain indifferent to Mayor Taleski affairs, so when he wanted to greet his citizens for the New Year in Magnolia Square, he was greeted with a cold reception with hissing and whistling.
