The Constitutional Court again requests Parliament’s opinion on Amnesty law

The Constitutional Court has again requested an opinion from the Parliament of the Republic of Macedonia on the law that would deny the President his constitutional rights so he can not pardon persons convicted of electoral fraud and pedophiles.

Parliament has 7 to 30 days to come out and give their opinion.
Parliament and the government have said and assessed that they should not change or remodel the disputed article of the current law on amnesty.

Otherwise, the next stage the judge reported, after receiving an opinion from Parliament, they will submit the case to a simple majority of constitutional judges, that will have to decide whether to uphold, not to accept or to reject the proposal to amend the laws of 2009, the year when head of state was deprived of such power.
