This afternoon, Management Board of the Association of Judges of Macedonia held a session to discuss the recordings published by SDSM.
The news crews that gathered at 1.30 pm (when the start of the session was scheduled) in front of the entrance of the Association of Judges in the building of the Court of Appeal, were told that the members of the association shall not make statements before or after the session, and that the public will be informed through a statement for the conclusions from it.
The session ended after an hour, and the Association issued a statement saying:
“In light of recent developments and released audio recordings by one of the political parties, which are publicly connoted as direct interference in the judiciary and an attack on the independence of judges, the Association of Judges of Macedonia (ZSM) is concerned and it feels that it is inappropriate judges to be put in a situation to publicly defend from pressure. The Management Board today decided to hear the opinions and summarize the opinions of the branches of all courts, after which a consistent attitude would follow.”
