Subsidies for energy efficiency in the amount of 764 000 EUR planned for next year

North Macedonia’s Ministry of Economy’s budget for 2021 will be 826 million MKD or 13.4 million EUR, and 190 million MKD (3 million EUR) are planned for various subsidies, informed the Minister of Economy  Kreshnik Nekteshi in a press conference, when he presented the Ministry of Economy’s draft-budget for the next year.

He said that for part of the subsidies in the programs planned for the year 2020 no calls were issued because of the pandemic and the economic crisis, but for next year it is expected that all the programs and measures will accomplished. For that purpose, additional assets have been planned.

“The Program for Energy Efficiency plans subsidies for the citizens in the amount of 47 million MKD, 764.000 EUR, mainly for purchased or installed solar thermal collector systems, for new PVC or aluminum windows, purchase of pellet stoves and compensation for the installing a photovoltaic system for production of electric energy,” stressed Bekteshi.

Bektesh said that the financial support for tourism will also be in the ministry’s focus and that there will be subsidies for the peasant households, for active tourism, for the digitalization of the tourist sector, for the support of tourist workers with lower incomes, etc.
