PHI of North Macedonia: COVID-19 death toll has increased by 35.4 % compared to last week

In the period between the 9th and the 15th of October, a total of 20.980 specimen were tested in the laboratories where the molecular testing is carried out for the presence of SARS-CoV-2, is and increase of 6.4% compared to the previous week. 7.355 new positive cases from 35 cities in the country were registered, with an insignificant increase compared to the previous week, when 7.280 new cases were registered, announced the Health Ministry of North Macedonia, in accordance with the Weekly report by the Public Health Institute (PHI).

The ministry informs that most of the registered cases are still from Skopje (44.9 %) with a weekly incidence – 535,1/100.000. During the given period, the percentage of positive cases out of the tested persons is 35 % which is a decrease of 2% compared to the previous week.

PHI stressed that 172 deaths were reported in 23 cities, which is an increase of 35.4 % compared to the previous week.
