The time of smear campaigns is over, now is the time for legal, professional investigations said, amongst other things, Interior Minister Oliver Spasovski at a press conference organised to discuss the affair over the forged identity cards. He remains confident the investigation will prove what the ID cards have been used for. According to him, the investigation was a complex, multifaceted and sensitive and it is still ongoing and as noted, no more details can be shared about on the case.
“There is pointless chaos which is surrounding this case but it will not prevent us to conduct a professional investigation into the ID cards. Let me remind you that for the forged passports and identity cards there has not been investigation by this Ministry for one year and a half. After my arrival to office, I immediately began an investigation after the Ministry had been submitted documents from the magazine “Fokus”, which opened the case. You need to pay attention to the forged ID cards themselves. You have to look at the date when they were issued, there you will see that the dates of issue on the ID’s were from 2009 until 2014, and the names and identification numbers on them are accurate, that means this is also a case of identity theft”, said Minister Spasovski.
