Welfare to increase by 10 percent this year

-

Increasing welfare by ten instead of the planned five percent this year is indication of the commitment of the Government for constant help and support to the most vulnerable category of citizens, said Minister of Labor and Social Policy Dime Spasov.

– In recent years, i.e. from 2006 to 2014, welfare increased by 47 percent, but still, we won’t stop here. Although the program of the government is determined that welfare and permanent financial assistance this year should increase by five percent, we decided to increase them by 10 percent and to start paying in July this year – said Minister of Labor and Social Policy, responding to a reporter’s question during his visit to the state school for rehabilitation of children and youth with visual impairments “Dimitar Vlahov”.

This, as Spasov emphasized, is an additional significant increase for about 12 months, about 30,000 recipients of welfare and about 5,300 recipients of permanent financial assistance receive significantly larger amount of money, i.e. for 12 months, about 145 million denars will be additionally allocated to raise this right.

Spasov announced that the Government and the ministry which he managed will continue with the implementation of a series of projects that will mean bigger financial support to the most vulnerable category of citizens.
