Pensioners from Skopje today had an organized tour of the Archaeological Museum to examine the artifacts and to be informed about their history by the guides in this national institution, where Minister of Culture Elizabeta Kancheska-Milevska and President of the Union of Pensioners of the Republic of Macedonia Dragi Argirovski were also present.
– Pensioners are here today on their own initiative and they had an opportunity to learn about the valuable original artifacts from our rich archaeological heritage, which are presented on several levels, ranging from prehistoric times to the Middle Ages – Kancheska-Milevska said, announcing that, since the end of October, when it was opened, the Archaeological Museum had more than 15,000 visitors until now.
She underlined that all cultural institutions are open to pensioners with a ticket with discount of 50 percent and that she is pleased with the desire of people in the third age to attend cultural events. He said that the Ministry of Culture supports their event – Exhibition of national songs and dances.
President of the Union Argirovski was also satisfied with the cooperation with the Ministry of Culture, indicating that it is in the interests of about 250,000 pensioners – their members.
– What we saw was really something to remember. Pensioners from Skopje today had the opportunity to visit the museum, but we already have requests from pensioners from Bitola, Veles, Prilep, Ohrid, Gevgelija, Shtip and other cities around the country, who next month will come to see these beauties. This is a secular work. The prehistory, antique coins and everything else deserves respect and you should not come just once, but several times – said Argirovski.
