The vice president of SDSM, Radmila Shekerinska, accompanied by Viktor Gaber, a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee, today met with Alojz Peterle, co-chair of the Joint Parliamentary Committee between Macedonia and the European Union.
The main topics of discussion were the possibilities to resolve the political crisis in Macedonia, the ways to restore democratic institutional system in the country and the rule of law.
The vice President Shekerinska informed Peterle the co-Chair of the reasons that led the country in difficult political and state crisis.
– It is necessary to separate the state from the party by forming a transitional government whose aim would be the normalization of Macedonia and creating conditions for holding free, fair and democratic elections – said Vice President Shekerinska. On the civil protest that took place on May 17th, the citizens of Macedonia sent the message that they are united and unified around the idea of restoring freedom and democracy in the country.
