Shekerinska and Miloshoski on a debate in Brussels

-

Radmila Shekerinska and Lidija Dimova from SDSM and Antonio Miloshoski from the ruling majority, today afternoon at the European Parliament in Brussels, will attend the two-day inter-parliamentary seminar on the improvement of the political dialogue and the strengthening of democracy in the candidate countries and potential candidates for the EU.

The seminar will be attended by Talat Xhaferi from DUI, Imer Selmani from DPA and independent MP Ljubica Buralieva.

At the seminar will be discuss on the recent cases of parliamentary confrontations in the region and will be the first institutional attempt for contact between two “warring” parties in Macedonia.

In the announcement of the event, MEPs reminded that the level of political culture of dialogue in the region is low. Parliaments in the region have “very little autonomy from the executive authority and the lack of cooperation between government and opposition based policies frequently leads to a complete boycott of the opposition parties.”

At the seminar titled “Development of political culture and strengthening political dialogue for sustainable democracy” in Brussels will also participate rapporteur for Macedonia at the EP Ivo Vajgl (Slovenia, liberals), Alois Peterle (Slovenia, Christian Democrats), Eduard Kukan (Slovakia, Christian Democrats) and Knut Flekenshtein (Germany, Socialists).
