After three and a half hours of talks, representatives of the political parties have left the residence of the European Union in Pržino for consultations with the leaders of their party’s. It is reported that negotiations will continue tonight at 18.30.
Vice President of the SDSM Radmila Sekerinska, briefly said she hoped that a final agreement would be reached today.
Our sources have told us, that the representatives of the political parties, Nikola Todorov from the VMRO-DPMNE, Radmila Sekerinska from the SDSM, Artan Grubi from the DUI, and Imer Aliu from the DPA, have been discussing the new technocratic government, the electoral register, and reforms in the media.
Sources from the negotiating teams have told us that the VMRO-DPMNE are for the formation of a interim government 60 days before the election, while the SDSM require the government to be formed 100 days before the elections if they are held this year. However, if they are held alongside local elections in 2017, the SDSM proposes a governing body to function six months before election day.
People are speculating more and more that early parliamentary elections will be held towards the end of November or the beginning of December. The proposal for an ad hoc committee for the assessment of the media is now at a standstill, because the Association of Journalists of Macedonia does not want to participate in the body in which they would receive two members, the Macedonian Association of Journalists wants two members and one independent expert as a common proposal between the two news organizations.
The four parties, for now, have agreed not to have a third electoral roll but the 40,000 questionable voters to be checked first by a field check, and afterwards to report to the State Election Commission. If they do not report to the SEC in a certain period of time, they will be deleted from the list.
The negotiations of the working groups of the political parties in Pržino are expected to last late into the night.
