VMRO-DPMNE has to get it over with and to stop with its own irresponsible politics and instead, to show responsibility and to act towards the solution of open end issues, for the purpose of promoting good neighborly relations and opening of Euro-Atlantic perspectives, states the press reaction issued by SDSM upon the decision of VMRO-DPMNE’s Central Committee not to support the Agreement with Bulgaria at the Parliament.
“The Agreement for friendship, good neighborly relations and cooperation between Macedonia and Bulgaria is a basis for friendship and a mutual success for both countries, for all parties and all citizens. Therefore it is very important for VMRO-DPMNE to show responsibility and participates in finishing the process and to provide support for the Agreement” said the press release.
The party states that VMRO-DPMNE should understand that politics means having responsibility and that the good neighborly relations should be a top priority for Macedonia and its citizens.
“The Agreement between Republic of Macedonia and Republic of Bulgaria is in accordance with the Macedonia’s national interests and it is the benefit of the citizens’ interests of both Macedonia and Bulgaria. The Agreement reaffirms the position that it’s about two separate states, two separate nations, and two separate languages, an issue will be closed that is unnecessarily dragging attention and energy and is quickening the process of integration into EU and NATO. By signing the Agreement, Macedonia is becoming an example for cooperation in the region and is strengthening the international position that VMRO-DPMNE was undermining for the last 11 years only to accomplish its own criminal interests” said SDSM.
