Last night, Prime Minister Zoran Zaev met with Fatmir Zymberi, owner of the American franchise KFC (KFC – Kentucky Fried Chicken) where they announced the opening of the first two restaurants in Tetovo and Skopje on September 14th.
The investment is worth more than 10 million euros and according to the business plan, they plan to open several restaurants in the country creating 400 new jobs.
“Prime Minister Zaev, while welcoming the company’s intentions, expressed his satisfaction with the arrival of the world famous brand and said that every new investment in Macedonia, in addition to creating new jobs and contributing to economic development, sends a strong message to new investors that the state is safe and solid in the market,” informs the government.
Zymberi said that by the end of the year, they plan to open a total of three restaurants in Macedonia, with a four-year business plan ready to open 15 to 20 restaurants with a total of 400 employees.
“I am especially happy that with an investment worth over EUR 10 million, we, apart form our employees, provide partnership exclusively with domestic companies from which we supply the necessary raw materials and supplies,” Zymberi said.
He added that “KFC” as a leader in the preparation and serving of chicken, has already conducted an analysis of the positions of the regions in Macedonia, where the cultivation of chickens can be stimulated.
“KFC”, based in Kentucky, USA was founded in 1991 and with more than 23,000 restaurants in over 120 countries is the second largest fast food restaurant in the world.
