The Government of North Macedonia has adopted the protocol for in-person education in primary and secondary schools. The education process in the schools throughout the country will start on the 1st of October, and until then the school managements will have to prepare the facilities in order for the education process to be accomplished.

The health and education authorities have decided that the education process will take place online, apart from the pupils from 1st to the 3rd grade, but also their parents are allowed to decide whether to let them go to school or to continue studying from home.

According to the new rules, the education process at the school will take place in the period from 7 am until 8 pm.

Regarding the entrance and the exit of pupils, the school will put into use all entrances in its building and must prepare a schedule for exit/entrance with different timings for entrance and exit of pupils from different grades and those schedules must be placed on visible places in the school. The parents/caretakers will see off the pupils to the designated school entrance and they will be banned to enter the school apart from the parents/caretakers/education assistants with special educational needs with a mandatory carrying of facemasks/face covers .At each entrance, the pupils will be awaited by an on-duty teacher who will take care that the pupils will disinfect their hands and shoes i.e. to assist the pupil to disinfect his/her hands with a disinfectant” state the rules in the Government’s document.
