Inhabitants of the Papua province in the far east of Indonesia notified the government that they have discovered remains of the airplane which had disappeared over that area.

This was the comment of an official representative of the Trigana airlines after their airplane carrying 54 passengers and crew members disappeared from the radar.

Operative director Beni Sumaryanto notified the company has received a report of the fall of the airplane nearby a village in the mountainous region. He added that rescue teams will search the area tomorrow.

The information was confirmed by the general director of air traffic in the Indonesian ministry of transport, who said, according to reports of eyewitnesses, the airplane had struck a mountainside.

The search of the lost plane was stopped because of bad weather conditions.
