The Serbian National Party wants a wall between Serbia and Macedonia

-

The Serbian National Party (SNP) considers that Serbia should follow the example of Hungary and raise a wall on the border of Macedonia because that is the only way to stop the flow of migrants.

“It is high time that we start acting like every other country in Western Europe. They put their first interest in first place, not others’ interests,” says in the SNP announcement.

From the party they say that according to the EU and UN definition, refugees are people who run away from war and exile seekers are people who are endangered in their country of residence because of their political position. Migrants are people who are in pursuit of a better life.

“In Serbia we don’t have an official stance which cathegory of people are these, except that every day we receive alarming news from officials that by the end of the year there will be 100,000 requests for residence documents and that will cost us additional 150 million euro. In the south part of the country there is a camp being built for 400,000 people,” says in the SNP announcement.

According to the party, the National Assembly of Serbia must prevent the possibility of migrants seeking exile rights if he or she had transited in a safe country, such as Greece and Macedonia. They say, migrants should seek exile there.

“It is clear that the EU wants migrants to remain in Serbia permanently. Only a naïve person will think that Brussels is not behind the wall between Hungary and Serbia,” is the party’s conclusion.
