North Macedonia’s Prime Minister Zoran Zaev is expecting bolder steps from the Association of Journalists of Macedonia (AJM) in the fight against disinformation and its spread in the media. These not only spread hatred, but also have a detrimental effect on the honor and dignity of individuals and also damage country’s interests and wreck or derail its strategies.
“From what I receive as analyses and from what I can see and read, I see that definitely there is a malicious dissemination of disinformation which can cause irreversible consequences. It’s about media without mastheads that are very present in the media space and which, apart from wrecking the honor and dignity of individuals, can destroy institutions, state strategies, they spread hatred that reflects on our strategic goals and also hinder them,” said Zaev answering question by a journalist in the press conference about the Government’s first 100 days since election.
