Osmani: There won’t be a general retention election of judges

-

I think that the interpretation that the government or the new parliamentary majority will be making a retention election of judges is absolutely wrong. The role of the new Judicial Council in defining the procedures for electing or disciplining judges will increase, said the VP for Euro-Integrations, Bujar Osmani in the “Radio Free Europe’s weekly interview.

VP Osmani said that a priority in the “3-6-9” Plan is the legal system because there is a selective justice there.

According to him, for opening the membership negotiations with the EU, a realization of the “3-6-9” plan, but also to address the open political issues such as the inter-ethnic relations and the relations with the neighbors.

=The “3-6-9” plan is an important one, and it has two goals to accomplish. The first is to create a society that is both European and good for the citizens and secondly, in order to reach the expectations of our European partners regarding the road towards integration, but the decision for starting the negotiations is a consensual decision on part of all countries-members and for that two trajectories have to be accomplished – said Osmani.

In the interview, Osmani says that only through building measures of trust, bridges of communication and by removing the prejudices with Greece, can create a basis for solvng the name dispute.

-What we need is brave decisions, the government is determined to enter into talks for solving this dispute. Of course, it is in our interest that Greece takes part in finding an acceptable solution for both sides since that is in the interest of both sides and the region as a whole – said Osmani.
