Тhe Minister without Portfolio responsible for Communication, Accountability and Transparency, Robert Popovski, and the Executive Director of the Foundation for Internet and Society “Metamorphosis”, Bardhyl Jashari, yesterday signed a Memorandum of Cooperation for the preparation of the Strategy on Government Transparency.
The Strategy will be a result of the regional ACTION SEE project, implemented by Metamorphosis and supported by the European Union, and its aim is to advocate for the adoption of the good practices for transparency and accountability in all institutions. The Strategy on Government Transparency will serve as a mechanism for the linking and harmonization of all strategic documents, laws, and bylaws which aim at the improvement of the transparency of government institutions directly or indirectly, as well as emphasize their obligation to be transparent. The decision for the preparation of this Strategy was made in the 126th regular session of the Government.
Meanwhile, the formation of the working group is underway. It will consist of representatives of Government institutions as well as civil society that aim to effectively use the capacities and experiences of the stakeholders. The first meeting of the working group will take place between 6-10 May.
