Macedonian diplomats are demanding an investigation into the obituaries of ambassadors

-

The Union of the Macedonian diplomatic service called on the Public Prosecutor’s Office to investigate the case of the publishing of obituaries of former and current ambassadors in Macedonia on the “Imgur” internet page and to reveal the individuals who posted them there.

Representatives of the union are asking the Public Prosecution to evaluate whether it is a “serious threat” which should be sanctioned with Article 420, Act 1 of the Criminal Code and a prison sentence.

The union pointed out that the decision on which countries and to what degree the country will collaborate with, is a decision that must be made by Macedonia, and not some political party’s structure. No one in the country is allowed to “play or worse threaten representatives of those countries in Macedonia, who are protected by international laws.”
