“The last long speech by the fearful and confused Gruevski has nothing to do with these elections. The man was talking about his own experience, of what he did during the elections in 2008, 2009, 2011, 2013 and 2014”, said the Liberal Party in a statement, where they concluded that the recent elections were fair and democratic, adding that Gruevski has no basis not to recognize the results from the local elections.
“The Liberal Party congratulates the citizens after the completion of the successful local elections. The dissatisfaction of those who did not achieve the results they expected is understandable, but there are no elements to contest the legitimacy of the elections. The ratings of domestic observers are that the elections were fair and democratic, with minor irregularities that did not affect the outcome. Accordingly, there is no basis for not recognizing the election results from either side. The elections are over, and therefore, the Liberal Party congratulates the election of all the new mayors”, reads the statement.
