Kotzias and Dimitrov will not be discussing the name dispute

-

The name dispute will not be the subject of the forthcoming meeting of the Head of the Macedonian diplomacy Nikola Dimitrov with his Greek colleague, Nikos Kotzias in Skopje, as was confirmed for Meta by its sources.

As usually, Kotzias will arrive in Skopje by car in order to avoid landing on the “Alexander the Great” airport.

Next Thursday, Dimitrov and Kotzias Димитров и Коѕиас will be having talks about measures for building trust and will discuss the progress of both ministries’ working groups about the new measures for bridging the divide. Still, the ministers might talk about the issue with the Macedonian consul in Toronto, Jovica Palashevski who took a photograph of him with a map of Great Macedonia, that Greece has looked upon it as a new provocation.

Kotzias’ visit to Macedonia comes after Dimitrov’s visit to Athens but also after the meetings of both ministers with the UN’s special envoy for the name dispute, Matthew Nimetz.

During his visit to Skopje in July, Mediator Nimetz said that no drastic changes should be expected in the forthcoming months since the governments are getting to know each other and it is too early to come up with definitive proposals concerning the name.
