Former prime minister and current honorary president of VMRO-DPMNE, Nikola Gruevski, after the adjournment of today’s hearing for the Trajectory case, which he was late to, again accused those in power of running a political smear campaign against VMRO-DPMNE and putting pressure on the judiciary over cases led by the SPO.
He alluded to the double standards of the court regarding the trials being conducted against former and current high-ranking officials of VMRO-DPMNE, and the “Bribery” case against Prime Minister Zoran Zaev, noting that judges had been apologizing to Zaev for harassing him and rescheduling his hearings in the long run.
When asked to comment on a new investigation by the SPO called “Foreign Services”, Gruevski said that he was not up to speed on the matter and that the SPO can open what kind of investigations they like, but he and the VMRO-DPMNE have nothing to fear.
When he was asked whether he expects MPs of VMRO-DPMNE to return to Parliament, Gruevski said that VMRO-DPMNE now has a new president, and soon a new leadership, and that issue should be addressed to them.
