The fact is that in Macedonia at the moment, there is political repression everywhere, there are intrusions in the municipalities and there are massive pressures on both the candidates of VMRO-DPMNE and voters and entire groups of citizens, said a member of VMRO-DPMNE, Vladimir Gjorchev.
He added that today there was a direct attack on the municipalities of Vevcani, Kriva Palanka and Berovo.
“So far, they have attacked the municipality of Prilep, the municipality of Negotino, the municipalities of Stip, Kavadarci, Veles, Makedonski Brod, Novo Selo. Beat up current mayors and candidates have been beaten up. They have pointed guns at people who are also at the moment running in the election. For the first time in an independent Macedonia, we have murder of a candidate in elections. Such things in Macedonia never existed before. There has never been a week before elections where municipalities were broken into, repression of voters and repression in entire social groups. There was never a situation where candidates were killed, or literally beaten in the street”, said Gjorchev.
He added that there is currently “mass lawlessness”.
“With the municipalities being attacked, there is mass political and party repression that resembles 1948, but this will not last long”, Gjorcev added.
