Gjorchev: We shall support each step that would take Macedonia closer to NATO

We shall support every step that will take Macedonia closer towards the NATO membership said the acting coordinator of VMRO-DPMNE’s MP group, Vlatko Gjorchev, after the meeting with the party’s representatives with NATO’s General Secretary, Jens Stoltenberg, which he saw as “good and constructive.”

-We informed Stoltenberg about the political prosecutions that are conducted in Macedonia, which is the only country in Europe where there are fierce prosecutions of the opposition. He thanked the party for all it has done so far regarding Macedonia’s accession into NATO -said Gjorchev.

When he replied to a question asked by a journalist, whether the party will return at the Parliament, Gjorchev repeated that VMRO-DPMNE’s stance is that in Macedonia there is no freedom, but a regime and that innocent people are imprisoned.

He informed that the Law on languages wasn’t the subject discussed with Stoltenberg, but he approved Ivanov’s decision not to sign the bill and he saw the decision as “founded.”
