The US Embassy has offered the Judicial Council assistance from US experts regarding the reforms

The President of the Judicial Council had a meeting yesterday with the representatives of the US Embassy, David Stephenson, the chief of the political and the economic sector, and with John T. McNeil – a legal counselor.

At the meeting, as informs the Council, was discussed the way of electing judges, including the responsibility of all subjects in the judiciary, including the judges and the members of the Judicial Council.

“The delegation of the US Embassy has expressed a wish for cooperation and a support for improvement of the legal decisions for selecting judges and leading disciplinary procedures, including the transparency of Macedonia’s Judicial Council. They have also offered a possibility of engaging experts from the US”, said the press release.
