Dimitrov: Macedonia will not play a key role in Kosovo’s bid to join UNESCO

-

Kosovo expects a support from Macedonia for its bid to join the international institutions, said today in Skopje the Kosovo Minister for Foreign Affairs, Behgjet Pacolli  during the joint press conference with the Head of the Macedonian diplomacy, Nikola Dimitrov.

Pacolli stressed that Macedonia has a bigger history and experience in international organizations, and because of that he expects a support, but he also said that even Kosovo supports Macedonia’s efforts to join NATO because that will have a positive effect on the stability of his country.

When asked by a journalist whether a support for joining UNESCO was asked for during the meeting, Dimitrov said that what was discussed was the Balkan’s European future and that all should see that there aren’t different sides but one perspective.

The Republic of Macedonia is approaching this issue with extreme care. We won’t play a key role because it concerns both of our neighbors. While deciding we shall take into consideration the interests of both Kosovo and Serbia, but also the interests of Macedonia and the Albanian community that lives in it – said Dimitrov.
