The Basic Public Prosecution – Skopje has filed charges against the founder and the administrator of the “Javna soba” (Public Room) chat room on Telegram, announced the Public Prosecution Office of North Macedonia. The two, aged 32 and 21, are charged with the production and distribution of child pornography.

Otherwise, the case known to the general public as “Javna soba 2” (Public Room 2), which followed after the aforementioned case, is in a preliminary procedure, announced the Prosecution.
“The Basic Public Prosecution Skopje contacted the international service provider Telegram with the help of the Ministry of Interior on the 27th of January 2021 in order to receive information about the user profiles of the creators, administrators and members of the group. Until this moment, no reply was received from the Telegram. This data is necessary to determine the identity and for the Prosecution to be able to act legally against the persons involved in this group. Due to these reasons, the Public Prosecution is also using the mechanisms of international legal help and it requested the data from the United Kingdom. Up until now, no reply was received upon this request,” said the press release.
