On the fourth anniversary of the Media Literacy Network in North Macedonia, a new online campaign on media literacy started today, and in the next 10 weeks, during each workday, a single poster with information will be shared, with the goal of raising the awareness of the need of critical thinking about the media and media content.

“Why do you need media literacy?; In what way does media literacy refer to the education, media, film, libraries?; What does it mean to be a journalist?; Responsibility online; Hate speech; Rumors; Intercultural communications – the Media Literacy Network will make an effort to provide answers to all of these questions and many other subjects and questions through its latest online campaign that starts today,” says the press release by the Agency for Audio and Audio-Visual Media Services.

With the campaign, two new channels of communication for the citizens with the Network will be opened – on Twitter @MediumPismenost and Instagram @mrezazamediumskapismenost i.e. the posters will be published through these profiles including the Networks’ Facebook page @MrezaZaMediumskaPismenost.

This campaign is implemented to mark the anniversary of the Media Literacy Network, which was founded  on the 27th of April 2017, on  initiative of the Agency for Audio and Audio-Visual Media Services, by 35 founding members (institutions, civil society organizations, educational institutions, and media). The network now boasts 63 members.
