Constitutional Court has made its final decision: No elections on June 5

-

Constitutional Judges at today’s meeting unanimously annulled the two decisions to dissolve Parliament adopted on 18 January and 23 February of this year, confirmed the Constitutional Court for “Meta”.

“The decision to dissolve Parliament on the 18th of January and the decision amending the decision to dissolve Parliament on the 23rd of February 2016 have been annulled. This decision by the Constitutional Court will be enforced on the day it is adopted”, said the General Secretary of the Constitutional Court, Olivera Filipovska.

With today’s decision by the Constitutional Judges, all activities connected with the early parliamentary elections will officially stop.

The last meeting held exactly one week ago, Constitutional Judges unanimously accepted to consider a motion filed by the Democratic Union for Integration (DUI), challenging the dissolution of Parliament.

Judges, meanwhile, brought injunctions stopping all activities and actions related to the elections.

Accepting the initiative and decision of the interim measure, it gave the Parliament Speaker Trajko Veljanovski an opportunity to reconvene Parliament (last Wednesday), and MPs unanimously deleted from the Electoral Code, the June 5th elections. A new date for elections was not provided.
