Committee for Infectious Diseases determined the protocol for conducting the election process

The Committee of Infectious Diseases has determined the protocols according to which all party activities will be implemented during the election process in situation of corona virus epidemic, including the voting day, informed the Health Minister Venko Filipche at today’s press conference.

– Regarding the pre-election campaign, in accordance with the Committee’s proposals, the maintaining of all party activities should be conducted with the keeping participants at a distance of 1,5 to 2 meters, mandatory wearing of face masks or other protective gear. Regardless if it is open or closed spaces, all participants should keep at a distance of 1,5 to 2 meters and they should wear protective gear – said Filipche.

The number of participants should be in accordance with the size of the space where all activities will occur, and the space has to be wired well in order for the people not to push themselves.

Regarding the door to door campaign, it is necessary for the protective gear to be worn, the distance to be respected and not to occur inside the households.

it is recommended that all party activities should occur outside or in closed spaces with a time limit of two hours most, which should then be disinfected and vented.

On election day, members of voting boards should keep a distance of 2 meters or of that is not possible, to wear protective masks and gloves. In the room where the voting will occur, the number of voters must equal the number of voting booths.

Voters should wait outside and should keep a distance of 2 meters and upon entering they should disinfect their hands, to put out briefly the mask in order to be identified with their personal ID card and when the voting is over to disinfect themselves again.

The Committee for Infectious Diseases has prepared this protocol on request of political parties that during the leaders’ meeting concluded that the citizens’ health is above all and have requested of ways to be determined how the election process will occur during the pandemic.
