The “Civil” organization’s teams who are monitoring the elections, have noticed increased activities on part of party activists among the municipalities where there will be a second round of the local elections, says the organization’s press release.
“The election silence is violated during the evening. Civil has received several reports from election observers and an audio – evidence for an election bribery in Shtip. The social networks resemble war zones. Hate speech is used towards political opponents, and what is noticeable is the use of hate, fear, and divisions. The hatred on an ethnic and religious basis, homophobia, and the xenophobia are basic tools on part of the political subjects that are part of the election race, both online and offline, says Civil’s announcement.
Before the election day tomorrow, Civil appeals to all election boards at the municipalities to perform their duties diligently and professionally.
“We ask the election boards to be cooperative with our observers and not to try to obstruct their work,” said the announcement.
