There has been progress in the preparations for the elections, but there is still a lot of work to be done, said today spokeswoman for the European Commission, Maja Kocijancic.
“We closely monitor developments in Macedonia. Regarding preparations for the elections to be held within two months, there has been progress, but more needs to be done to ensure election are credible sources and in line with the standards”, said Kocijancic.
She emphasized the need to continue with the implementation of the Przino Agreement, and the implementation of urgent reforms.
“In the interest of the state, the political crisis needs to be resolved, for its citizens. We hope that the political parties will remain committed to this ambition, and the goal which was agreed, especially that which concerns the elections and reform priorities, which is in the interest of the state and its people”, said Kocijancic.
