Governor of the National Bank of the Republic of Macedonia Dimitar Bogov stated that if the political crisis lasts, it will have a negative effect on macroeconomic projections, which would decrease, especially in the part of investment and private consumption.
– Investors refrain from investing in uncertain environment. They require stability, predictability and reliability. Also, in an uncertain environment, the consumption of citizens is postponed. Citizens would have abstained from buying and would probably resort to saving – stated Bogov.
Savings of citizens in the last five years has a stable growth rate and, according to the governor, they have confidence in the banking system in the country.
