The State Commission for the Prevention of Corruption, (DKSK), today in a public meeting reviewed the petitions of the additional Deputy Minister of Interior Oliver Andonov, towards Oliver Spasovski and VMRO-DPMNE towards the SDSM Mayor of Kumanovo and the Director of Kumanovo’s Public Utility Company, wrote “Nova TV“.
Both complaints concern members of the Electoral Code, where the complainants claimed that the Code has been violated.
The case has been shaped by Andonov’s complaint and will be lead by Farie Aliu (member of the DKSK).
She explained that there is reasonable suspicion that the Minister of Interior, Oliver Spasovski has violated Article 8 of the Electoral Code while making changes in the Interior Ministry, and announcing the decision on the early parliamentary elections.
“This is regarding the decisions made by Spasovski after the announcement of the early parliamentary elections and the opinion of the State Commission for the Prevention of Corruption was not respected”, she said.
The conclusion of Aliu’s proposal, has been accepted by the majority of the members, and requires the Public Prosecutor to take the appropriate measures and then provide further feedback to the Commission.
The complaint made by the VMRO-DPMNE, however, refers to the violation of Article 8b of the Electoral Law and the Commission President Igor Tanturovski is leading the case.
Namely, as stated by the representative of VMRO-DPMNE, Ilija Ilioski, the Mayor of Kumanovo and the Director of Kumanovo’s Public Utility Company utility have been misusing official and state vehicles.
In this case, the majority of members have asked the Public Prosecutor to take appropriate measures and to provide feedback to the Commission before they can further debate on it.
