Academician Ljupcho Kocarev named as the new president of the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts

The Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts (MANU) has appointed its new leadership with a mandate of four years. Academician Ljupco Kocarev will be a president of MANU starting from January next year.

During the Election Assembly, MANU appointed academicians Zivko Popov and Gazanfer Bajram as the Academy’s Vice Presidents while Izet Zekiri was named to be the Science Secretary.

The following academicians were appointed to be part o MANU’s Presidency: Katica Kjulavkova, Abdulmenac Bedzeti, Vladimir Serafimovski, Leonid Grchev, Gligor Jovanovski, Radovan Pavlovski, and Momir Polenakovik.

MANU’s new president is a professor at the Faculty of IT sciences and Computer engineering (FINKI). Kocarev was elected as a regular member at MANY in 2007. He worked at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering & Information Technologies and he was also part of the team at the California University in San Diego, USA.
