The police officers have registered 43.928 offences of the mandatory face masks wearing measures in the cities throughout the country. During the summer period i.e. during June, July, and August, the biggest number of those offences (20.026) were registered in June, almost twice less were registered in July (11.054) show the data issued by MOI.
This measure was adopted on the 22nd of April this year and in accordance with the Government of North Macedonia’s Decree, it entered into force on the 1st of May. In the period between the 22nd of April and the 1st of May, the citizens were only warned about the mandatory obligation to wear face masks. From the 1st of May, the failure to abide by this measure will be fined in accordance with the fines as determined by the Government’s decree. The fine for not wearing a face mask is 20 EUR.
