The word Macedonia originates from India. It was called “Maa Ki Duniya”, and then the Romans began calling it Macedonia.
The President of Macedonia, Gjorge Ivanov, told the Indian ambassador to Brazil, Abhay
Kumar, during the opening of the Macedonian Embassy in Brasilia.
“I had the opportunity to meet Dr. Gjorge Ivanov, President of Macedonia at the opening ceremony of the Macedonian Embassy in Brasilia. Interesting thing he told me – “The word Macedonia comes from India. It was called ‘Maa ki Dunija’, which the Romans started calling Macedonia”, Mr Kumar wrote on Twitter.
