The EU Commissioner, Johannes Hahn has met with the VMRO-DPMNE’s party leader Hristijan Mickoski at the Congress of the European People’s Parties (EPP) in Helsinki, and after the meeting on his Twitter account, he wrote that he has explicitly told Mickoski that the Prespa Agreement will have to be accomplished. He said that Mickoski has promised that he will not put obstacles to the procedure at the Parliament.
„Useful talk with the MVro-DPMNE’s leader at the EPP’s Congress in Helsinki. I was crystal clear that the ratification of the Prespa Agreement must be finalized fast, without any obstacles. I welcome his dedication not to obstruct the procedure in the parliament” wrote Hahn on his twitter account.

After meeting Hahn, on his Facebook profile Mickoski wrote that he has informed the EU Commissioner about the political trials and the misuse of the judiciary against VMRo-DPMNE, and as he says that he has stressed that Macedonia’s membership into the EU is of strategic interest for VMRO-DPMNE.
Hahn also met with other expelled members of VMRO-DPMNE like Petar Bogojevski who was part of the reformatory group, Emilija Aleksandrova, the MP who voted in favor of constitutional changes and the former Minister of Justice, Nikola Todorov.
“I applauded their courage and bravery when they voted for the Prespa Agreement. All threats against them must stop! All parties should work in favor of the EU agenda which is what most of the citizens want” wrote Hahn.
