Zaev will put up a dial which will count stolen money returned to the state, like the dial on Times Square

-

The leader of the opposition Zoran Zaev yesterday, answering a question on the show “Nova Debata” on “Nova TV” on whether there is a plan to locate and recover all public money, he said that when he came to power, SDSM would build a monument which will show how much of the public’s money has been returned to the state budget.

“I, from what I know, we’re talking about a figure of approximately five billion euros from 2007. Under existing laws in Macedonia this is a crime, proven by a court ruling, where money has been stolen or property, and if found, they will be seized. At the Arch of Triumph we will set up a dial and when the Agency for confiscated and seized property will sell a property and return money to the budget, the dial will turn. It will our contribution, a monument to all monuments, it will be the central core of our capital. It is proof that everything which was stolen will be returned to the state. I believe there are opportunities to gather evidence and to get back a percentage of what has been stolen”, said Zaev.

Similar dials have been set-up in New York, near Times Square, and a website that counts down the US national debt, which is currently around 19 trillion US dollars.

Dials that count down national debt can also be found in Berlin, German.
