Tomorrow, Prime Minister Zoran Zaev travels to Washington to hold a bilateral meeting with US Vice President Mike Pence, the government’s office informs.

“The meeting will be held at the invitation of Vice President Pence, and they will discuss the Republic of Macedonia’s progress towards NATO membership,” the government’s press service reported.

The meeting comes after US Defense Secretary James Mattis’s visit three days ago in Macedonia, and previously US Assistant Secretary of State Wess Mitchell was also in the country.

Mattis, at a press conference with Zaev and Defense Minister Radmila Shekerinska said that “the referendum is the most important vote in your nation’s history” and emphasized the support from the United States.
