Zaev: I will not attend the meeting in Brussels

-

SDSM leader Zoran Zaev today stated he will not attend the scheduled meeting with EU Commissioner Johannes Hahn on 10th of June in Brussels.

– Johannes Hahn’s statement in Washington contains elements of bias and is inappropriate in the preparatory period before the decisive meeting in Brussels. Hahn’s assessment for generally positive reports of OSCE/ODIHR monitoring mission for the last elections in Macedonia is surprising. Neither OSCE/ODIHR nor the EU has ever concluded that the report for Macedonia is positive – stated today Zaev in front of the seat of SDSM.

SDSM leader also said that the evidence of the project “Truth about Macedonia” uncovered the criminal background of several elections in Macedonia, organized and implemented by this government.

– I want to emphasize that during the whole period, we are behaving maximally democratic and sat at the same table despite the unequal position in which we were put. We gave our maximum in this process and we expect it to be respected by both sides – stated Zaev.

He added that after the talks on 2nd of June, another indictment against him for taking bribes was initiated, although, as Zaev says, criminal charges were for attempted bribery. Diversion to the car of the son of Zoran Verusevski was made, and new searches of the homes of detainees were carried out.
