Zaev: It is time for the parliamentary majority to take responsibility

-

“As the parliamentary majority won over trust, we let five weeks pass so the public can see what kind of false patriotism Gruevski and the leadership of VMRO-DPMNE are promoting, and there is no doubt that the leadership of VMRO-DPMNE do not want to hand over the power, because they are scared of facing responsibility. There is no escape from responsibility, there will be no amnesty, and we will go to court as often as there is suspicion that someone has broken the law. This counts for me and Gruevski and everyone else. The law applies to us all”, said the leader of SDSM, Zoran Zaev, at a press conference in Parliament, during the break of the continuation of the constitutive session.

He first responded to the accusations from VMRO-DPMNE and the coalition made in the 20 continuations of the constitutive session and strongly denied that state symbols are going to change, federalization or declaring the Macedonian people as genocidal.

“I would like to again repeat in front of everyone: It is a lie that the Constitution will be changed, that laws will be changed which are contrary to the Constitution, that there will be cantonization, that there will be changes to the constitutional name, flag and national anthem. It is a lie that everyone will have to learn Albanian in Štip, and it is a lie that the Macedonian people will be declared genocidal”, said Zaev.

Talking about the intentions of the future government and coalition talks, he said that the unitary character of the country will strengthen.

“It is true that everything will be aimed at strengthening the unitary character of Macedonia and it is true that no one has demanded anything beyond the Constitution, nor has anyone been blackmailed. It is correct that there will be a law which will promote the use of languages of the Albanian community and other ethnic communities”, said the SDSM leader, adding that the tendency is for Macedonia to be a society for all.
